First-pay governance checklist
Ten things that should be true for every closed asset.
A short self-assessment. Print it, take it to your next operations meeting, and mark each line yes, partly, or no. Use the answers to identify which controls need review; this checklist does not score or diagnose your company.
| Statement | Yes | Partly | No |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01Every closed asset that has not reached verified first pay has one named owner for the next action. | |||
| 02The next required action on each open asset is written down and dated. | |||
| 03Leadership can list every closed asset awaiting first pay without asking anyone. | |||
| 04When a closed asset stops moving, the reason is recorded against the asset. | |||
| 05Open items past 31, 61, and 90 days are visible on a schedule, not on memory. | |||
| 06Operator silence on a division-order request is treated as an exception, not a wait. | |||
| 07Unresolved work rises to leadership through a defined path, not a hallway conversation. | |||
| 08First pay is verified per asset against the deed, not assumed from an aggregate deposit. | |||
| 09An asset leaves the working list only after closure is confirmed against a stated requirement. | |||
| 10If one person left tomorrow, the status of every open asset could be reconstructed from the record. |
The Governance Check asks five of these as structured questions and shows a directional result on screen. The diagnostic answers all of them in your actual operating environment.
This checklist gives you a general sense based on your own answers. It is not a formal audit, legal opinion, title review, or financial analysis.
